Wayne L. McKinney Obituary (1917 - 2009)

Wayne L. McKinney, 92, of Taylorville, IL died at 6:30 am Thursday, October 15, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 3, 1917 in Kincaid, IL the son of Howard and Bertha Matheny McKinney. On September 10, 1949 he married Geraldine Heil at the First Baptist Church in Taylorville. Mr. McKinney was an Army veteran of World War II, member of Taylorville Christian Church, and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Divernon. He was employed as a Data Processing Supervisor for the State of Illinois for 35 years. Surviving are his wife, Geraldine McKinney of Taylorville, Son: Wayne W. McKinney of Springfield, and a Daughter, Karen McKinney of Taylorville. 2 Grandchildren: Heather Dempsey and husband Josh of Taylorville and Mark Anderson of Waverly. 4 Great Grandchildren: Rachel Dempsey, Brandon Dempsey, McKenna Anderson, and Noah Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: LaVerne McKinney, and two sisters: Dorothy Howard and Virginia Eggerman. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 19, 2009 at McClure Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Wamsley officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery.
