Violet Faye Davis Obituary (1922 - 2002)

Violet Faye Davis, 80, of Taylorville, IL, died at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 13, 2002 in Meadow Manor Nursing Home, Taylorville. She was born February 3, 1922 in Cambridge, Ohio, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Caygill Byers. On April 2, 1954 she married Jack L. Davis, Sr in Springfield, IL and he preceded in death on April 17, 1989. She was a former employee of St. John's Hospital in Springfield and was a homemaker. She attended Calvary Baptist Church and was a member, past president and past madam president of Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxilary in Taylorville. Surviving are 3 sons: Jack L. Davis, Jr; Michael W. 'Mickey' Davis and Mark A. Davis and wife Christina all of Taylorville. Daughter: Janet S. Montgomery and husband Rex of Taylorville. Son-in-law: Evert Nation of Taylorville. 6 Grandchildren: Ron Clayton of Herndon,Ohio; Brian Clayton, Evert Nation II, Kaitlin Davis, Victoria Davis and Brianna Davis all of Taylorville, IL 4 Great Grandchildren: Laura Clayton of Herndon, Ohio, Quinn Clayton of Taylorville, IL and Kyle Nation and Alexis Nation both of Sugargrove, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Rita F. Nation and son, Robert E. Gelonek, Jr. and 1 granddaughter, Tresa O'Connell. Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, March 15, 2002 in McClure Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Branch officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL.
