Thomas H. Fillenwarth Obituary (1941 - 2012)

Thomas H. Fillenwarth, 70, of Taylorville, IL died at 11:25 am Saturday, March 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 21, 1941 in Champaign, IL the son of George Q and Dorothy Hoyt Fillenwarth. Mr. Fillenwarth had been a coal miner for 20 years and was a member of the United Mine Worker's of America and the Mine Rescue Team. He was an army veteran serving in Korea from 1958 to 1964, and a member of the AmVets Post 29, American Legion Post 73, and V.F.W. Post 4495. Surviving are his daughters: Holly Beard and husband John of Taylorville, and Evelyn Watson and husband Phil of New Haven, MO; Sons: Thomas H. Fillenwarth II, and George Greg Fillenwarth both of Florida, and Thomas Ira Fillenwarth and wife Jeannie of Alabama. Stepson: Norman Lybarger and wife Tara of Springfield. There are 17 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daughter: Valerie Martin, Sister, Marietta Gates, and a grandson: Ryan T. Hill. There will be no Visitation or Service. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
