Roy A. Jones Obituary (1915 - 2006) - Taylorville, Illinois

Roy A. Jones, 90, of Taylorville, IL died at 10:05 pm Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at his residence. He was born April 1, 1915 in Morrisonville, IL the son of H.K. and Mary M. Aull Jones. On July 23, 1941 he married Marie H. Krager at St. Raymond's Catholic Church in Raymond. Mr. Jones was a farmer in the Morrisonville area for 30 years prior to their moving to Taylorville in 1971. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville, a 72 year member of the Morrisonville Knights of Columbus and a member of the Christian County Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife Marie Jones, of Taylorville; 2 Sons: Al Jones and wife Debby of Quincy and Dennis Jones of Taylorville; 2 daughters: Helen Jones of Springfield and Ruth M. Boch of Taylorville and 1 sister, Velma Myer of Washington, IL. 4 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters and a grandchild. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, February 4, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville with Father Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will be in St. Maurice Cemetery, Morrisonville. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Friday, February 3, 2006 at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville with a prayer service at 6:30 pm.
