Rosie Lucille Seiler Obituary (1927 - 2011)

Rosie Lucille Seiler, 83, of Owaneco, died at 4:00 pm Friday, March 11, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was born August 31, 1927 in Mt. Pulaski the daughter of Willis and Eva Purcell Ayers. On June 22, 1947 she married Eugene Seiler in Mt. Pulaski. Mrs. Seiler was a member of Buckeye United Methodist Church where she was very active and was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years, and a UMYF Counselor for 10 years. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star Tacusah Chapter #682, lifetime member of the P.T.A., and a 4-H leader of 35 years. She attended Lincoln Bible College. Surviving are her husband Gene Seiler of Owaneco, 3 sons: Ron Seiler and wife Myrna of Owaneco, Garyl Seiler of Laurel, MD, and Chris Seiler of Owaneco. Daughter: Rosella Wise of Owaneco. 9 Grandchildren: Steve Seiler, Dave Seiler, Rachael Moore, Jackie Seiler, Lori Moore, Brad Seiler, Elizabeth Shores, Brandon Wise and Lucas Wise. 15 Great Grandchildren. Brothers: Robert Ayers of Mt. Pulaski and Lonnie Ayers of Lincoln. Sisters: Zella Shehorn of Ozark, AL, Betty Shartzer of Illiopolis, and Rosemary Lathrop of Cisne. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter Gina Lou in infancy, 1 grandson, and 1 brother. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Buckeye United Methodist Church with Rev. Betty Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Buckeye Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Monday at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville. There will be Eastern Star Rites at 6:45 pm.
