Reeda J. Kindred Obituary (1930 - 2019)

Reeda J. Kindred, 88 of Edinburg, passed away at 7:30a.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on April 7, 1930 in Stonington, the daughter of Carl S. and Blanche (Reed) Stahl. She married Charles Robert Kindred on December 5, 1948 in the Stonington Methodist Church. Reeda and Robert recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. She worked as a beautician for several years, operating her own shop- Hair Mechanics, in Edinburg. She was a member of the Taylorville First United Methodist Church. She loved animals, gardening, playing golf, and was a talented cook and baker. Above all, Reeda loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband: Robert Kindred of Edinburg; sons: Steve Kindred of Edinburg and Darrell Kindred (Penny) of Connersville, Indiana; grandchildren: Richard Kindred of Reno, Nevada and Jennifer Mitchell (David) of Washington, D.C.; great-grandchildren: Ian Steven Mitchell and Aria Kathleen Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Marcia Kindred; and sister: Phyllis Stahl. The funeral service for Reeda will be held at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Becky Lembke officiating. Burial will take place in the Edinburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 until 11a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Edinburg Rescue Squad or Christian County Animal Control.
