Matilda Tillie Vaughn Obituary (1919 - 2008)

Matilda "Tillie" Vaughn, 89, of Taylorville, IL died at 3:10 am Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Taylorville Care Center. She was born April 9, 1919 in Johnston City, IL the daughter of Frank and Rose Pinter Zaborac. She married Earl Wilson Vaughn in West Frankfort, IL and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1977. Mrs. Vaughn was a homemaker and a member of Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville. She loved to cook, loved her family and especially loved spending a lot of time with her grandchildren. She is survived by 2 sons: Roy Vaughn and wife Mary of Springfield, MA and Ray Vaughn of Chicopee, MA; 2 Daughters: Earlene Fisher and husband Merle of Taylorville and Shirley Eversgerd and husband Al of Germantown, IL. Brother: Joe Shkrlac of Alexandria, VA and Sister: Catherine DeGorcia of Marion, IL. 10 Grandchildren: Chris Gruenenfelder and husband Tim, Ron Criner, Lisa Goestenkors and husband Steve, Mike Criner, Tim Fisher, Cindy Dennis and husband Dan, David Fisher and wife Sandy, Alan Vaughn, Amy Moore and husband Peter and Patricia Vaughn. There are 14 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,grandson, Michael Roy Vaughn, brother Mike Zaborac and 3 sisters: Ann Panko, Mary Kresich and Louise Bennett. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 10 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville with Dr. Lonnie Southern and Rev. Vicki Southern officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service on Wednesday.
