Mary K. Elliott Estes Obituary (1917 - 2007)

Mary K. Elliott Estes, 90, of Taylorville, IL died at 6:15 am Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born March 18, 1917 in Mason City, IL the daughter of William and Frances Doyle Gleason. She married Fred Elliott on November 25, 1937 in Taylorville and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1974. She then married John W. Estes on March 19, 1977 and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1988. Mrs. Estes was a homemaker, former employee of Sangamon Company and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and was a member of the St. Vincent Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are her children: Robert Elliott and wife Margaret of Springdale, AR; William Elliott and wife Barbara of Corrales, NM; John Elliott and wife Laurie of The Woodlands, TX; Karen Calandro and fiancee Robert Helmer of Schaumburg, IL; Judy Hurst and husband Daryl of Decatur, IL; J. David Estes and wife Penny of Williamsport, PA and a brother: Edward Gleason and wife Mary of Visalia, CA. There are 20 Grandchildren and 28 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and 4 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Dan Willenborg officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, November 27 at the funeral home. There will be a rosary at 7:45 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's School, 422 S.
