Johanna Daugherty Obituary (1926 - 2003)

Johanna Daugherty, 76, of Taylorville, IL died at 7:50 pm Friday, March 28, 2003 in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. She was born August 23, 1926 in Taylorville, IL the daughter of Frank C. and Mary Bailey Noren. On February 20, 1946 she married James C. Daugherty in Sterling, IL. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Taylorville and was retired from the State of Illinois with the Secretary of State's Office. She was a Past President of the Oak Street School P.T.A.; Women of the Moose, and was Christian County Republican Chairwoman for many years. Surviving are her husband Jim of Taylorville. 2 sons, James Daugherty Jr. and wife Mary and Mike Daugherty both of Taylorville, IL. 2 daughters, Susan Nazy and husband Don of Cooper City, FL and Rosemary Candelara and companion John Tarver of Chandler, AZ. Grandchildren: Todd Daugherty of Taylorville; Michelle Yenerall and husband Kirk of Springfield; Jeremy Daugherty and wife Sheila of Buffalo, IL; Matthew Nazy of Cooper City, FL; Lucas Daugherty and Nicholas Daugherty both of Taylorville. Great Granddaughter: Allyson Daugherty-Yenerall of Springfield. 2 Brothers: Jim Noren and wife Mary Ann of Taylorville, IL and Ron Noren and wife Connie of Orange, CA. 2 Sisters: Barb Pelati and Marilyn Voggetzer and husband Ed all of Taylorville. 2 Sisters-in-law: Lenora Noren and Louise Noren both of Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Winifred Daugherty and 3 brothers: Lindy Noren, Bill Noren and Ted Noren. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 2, 2003 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL with Rev. Charles Isaac officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
