Jerry Coxey Cox Obituary (1945 - 2010)

Jerry D. "Coxey" Cox, 64, of Pana, IL died at 7:12 am Saturday, October 02, 2010 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born October 22, 1945 in Columbus, OH, the son of Howard and Mary Micenheimer Cox. He is survived by his mother of Pana. He married Linda I. Lilly on September 12, 1965 and had sons: Steven (Velina) Cox of Neoga, IL, grandsons Dakota and Kiegan; Ronald (Jamie) Cox of Pana, and grandchildren Jason Whennen and Amelia Whennen and great grandson: Kyle. grandson, Brent Whennen and great grandson Kaiden. He married Diane Wafford on December 24, 1991. With this union Step-son: Jason (Christy) Wafford of Tower Hill, granddaughters Bailey, Laney, and Riley were added to the family. Jerry spent over 40 years serving local farmers in the Ag Chem business. He had a love of the outdoors, and spending time with his sons, grandsons, and many friends cat fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Pana Elks Lodge #1261, Pana Sportsmen's Club, and the Illinois Fox, Coon and Squirrel Hunters Association. He had a great many friends. At his request no services will be held. The family invites everyone to join them at the Pana Elks Lodge for a celebration of his live on Saturday, October 16, at 5:00 pm.
