Jack W. Vedas Obituary (1938 - 2011)

Jack W. Vedas, 73, of Taylorville, IL died at 12:56 pm Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born November 5, 1938 in Taylorville, the son of Ralph "Pockey" and Virginia Upchurch Vedas. On August 10, 1963 he married Amanda Y. Yonker in Taylorville. Jack retired from Caterpillar in Decatur, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, member of United Auto Workers Local 751, National Rifle Association, and was a former member of V.F.W. Post 4495. Surviving are his wife Amanda Vedas of Taylorville, Son Kirk Vedas and spouse Fen of San Francisco, CA, and Brother, Bob Vedas and wife Dorie of Oak Park, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Carla Vedas Griffiths. There will be no services or visitation at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Vedas was cremated.
