Howard Lee Criswell Obituary (1936 - 2015)

Howard Lee Criswell, 79, of Edinburg, IL died at 8:57 pm Sunday May 17, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. He was born February 13, 1936 in Stubenville, KY the son of Lee and Daphne Lair Criswell. On July 15, 1956 he married Ruth M. Corr in Pleasant Plaines, IL. Mr. Criswell was retired from the State of Illinois Department of Transportation. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Surviving are his wife: Ruth M. Criswell of Edinburg, IL; Son: Lynn Criswell and wife Karen of Amarillo, TX; Daughter: Carol Criswell of Highland, IL and a granddaughter: Amy Schoenfelder and husband Jameson of Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Criswell. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville with Pastor Becky Lembke officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday at the Funeral Home. Mr. Criswell will be cremated following services. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Cancer Society of the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
