Hazel I. Norris Obituary (1928 - 2003)

Hazel Irene Norris, 75, of Mt. Auburn, IL formerly of Stonington, IL died at 8:05 pm Sunday, June 29, 2003 at her residence. She was born February 10, 1928 in Tower Hill, IL the daughter of Benjamin and Ester (Seitz) Dunn. On January 17, 1945 she married Charles Norris, and together they raised 5 children. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1988. Hazel worked at the 22nd Street General Electric Plant and Borg Warner, both of Decatur, IL. She was also a private caregiver for over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her many flower beds in the summer time and quilting in the wintertime. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington. She leaves her children: Carolyn Malm and husband Timothy of Key Biscayne, FL, Chuck Norris and wife Marsha, Dan Norris and wife Margaret both of Mt. Auburn and David Norris and wife Mary of Palmer, AK. 10 Grandchildren: Eric Joe Norris and wife Kara of Langleyville, Kelly Rice and husband Barry of Mt. Pulaski, Christopher Ater and wife Stephanie of Oreana, Kurt Norris and wife Jen of Mt. Auburn, Sheila Norris of Clinton, Daniel Norris of Mt. Auburn, Harmonie McMahan and husband David of Temple, Georgia, Hamilton Norris of Palmer, AK Step Grandson David Malm of Oreana, and Joseph Keilhoffer Palmer, AK. 11 Great Grandchildren: Preston Rice and Blake Rice both of Mt. Pulaski, A.J. Norris and Nicole Norris of Mt. Auburn, Jennie Kate McMahan of Temple, Georgia, Megan Ryan, Mike Daigh, Mitch Daigh and Matt Daigh of Taylorville and Haley and Danny Keilhoffer of Palmer, AK Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, 2 sons, Roy Lee Norris and Dennis Norris in infancy, 3 brothers, Benjamin Ralph Dunn, Jr., Bernard Ray Dunn, Roy Franklin Dunn and sister Pauline Vivian Patterson. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, July 3, 2003 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Stonington with Fr. Martin O'Hara officiating. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 2 in McClure Funeral Home Taylorville. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 pm .
