Garrett B. Jack Crews Obituary (1911 - 2003)

Garrett B. "Jack" Crews, 92, of Taylorville, IL died at 10:50 pm Sunday, August 3, 2003 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL. He was born August 2, 1911 in Vergennes, Illinois, the son of Hardy and Laura Foster Crews. On October 14, 1934 he married Sarah Jane Albon in Murphysboro, IL and she preceded in death on May 14, 2003. Surviving are her son, Gary Crews and wife Carol of Taylorville, IL and a daughter, Carole Ann Young and husband Phil of Murphysboro, IL. Four Grandchildren: Steve Crews and wife Nita of Waverly, Mike Crews and wife Tracey of Taylorville, Dana Reichett and husband Craig of Springfield, IL and Chad Vogt and wife Billie of Valley Park, MO. There are 5 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Brothers, Frank, Harry and Stanley Crews and a grandson, Chuck Vogt. Memrial Services will be at 12 Noon, Saturday, August 9, 2003 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL with Rev. Richard Wamsley officiating. Burial will be at a later date in DeSoto Cemetery, DeSoto, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the funeral home on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Taylorville Christian Church or American Cancer Society.
