Faye Stephens Obituary (1926 - 2012)

Clair Faye Stephens, 86, of Taylorville, IL died at 9:50 pm Monday, October 29, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. Faye was born September 2, 1926 in Taylorville, the daughter of Bert and Sarah Smith Neal. On September 25, 1943 she married Howard L. Stephens in St. Charles, Missouri. Mrs. Stephens graduated from Taylorville High School and was a lifelong resident of the Sharpsburg area. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Taylorville. Surviving are her husband Howard Stephens of Taylorville' Son: Danny Stephens and wife Marilyn of Taylorville; Daughter: Bonnie Leach and husband Lyman of Springfield. 7 Grandchildren: Mark Stephens of Edinburg, Mike Stephens and wife Michelle of Edinburg, Michelle Cappellin and husband Dave of Taylorville, Lyman Leach, Jr. of Chatham, Kerri Krell and husband Pat of Springfield, Jenni Sedlock and husband Josh of Leroy, and Clifford Linder of Springfield. There are 7 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Kathryn Aichele of Springfield. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother Duval Neal, 1 sister Bernadine Starks and a granddaughter Christine Stephens. Public Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 1 at Bethel Cemetery Sharpsburg with Rev. David Anderson officiating. There will be no visitation.
