Emily L. Childers Obituary (1927 - 2003)

Emily L. Childers, 75, of Taylorville, IL died at 3:35 pm Wednesday, February 5, 2003 in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville, IL. She was born April 17, 1927 in Taylorville the daughter of Edward J. and Emma Yeakley Shivers. On October 10, 1946 she married Vincent L. "Bud" Childers in St. Charles, MO. Mrs. Childers was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Taylorville. Surviving are Sons: David M. Childers and Roy L. "Buddy" Childers and wife Linda both of Taylorville, IL. 4 Grandchildren: Michael Childers, Vincent Childers and Heather Jones all of Taylorville and Tricia Cox of Assumption, IL. There are 8 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Robert Shivers and wife Dorothy and a sister, Katherine Van Hoosier both of Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers, Dwight Shivers, Francis "Doc" Shivers, Herbert Shivers, Byron Shivers and Kenneth Shivers. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, February 8, 2003 in McClure Funeral Home Taylorville with Rev. Charles Isaac officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, February 7, 2003 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL.
