Elmer B. Hill Obituary (1916 - 2002)

Elmer B. Hill, 85, of Taylorville, IL died at 9:18 am Friday, April 12, 2002 at his residence. He was born May 10, 1916 in Palmer, Illinois, the son of Walter and Maude Woodall Hill. On November 29, 1941 he married Betty J. Welge in St. Charles, MO. Mr Hill was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Taylorville, and had been employed for 57 years with John Deere at Boyd-Rodden and currently at Sloan's West. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Taylorville, Son, Roy Hill of Taylorville and daughter, Susan Lockard and husband Terry of Taylorville, IL. 6 grandchildren: Brittany Hill, Josiah Lockard, Jesse Lockard, Sarah Lockard, Seth Lockard and Hannah Lockard. 5 Sisters: Wilma Lamb of Taylorville, Alta Smith and husband Ralph of Taylorville, Wanda Dodson of Owaneco, Mary Heberling and husband Ed of Taylorville and Betty Benson of Lakeland, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jessie Avis and 4 brothers, Glenn Hill, Ben Hill, Charlie Hill and Paul Hill. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 16, 2002 in Grace Baptist Church Taylorville with Pastor Philip Neumann officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, April 15, 2002 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL and one hour prior to services in the church on Tuesday.
