Elaine S. Henderson Obituary (1950 - 2009)

Elaine S. Henderson, 59, of Morrisonville, IL died at 7:45 am Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born August 22, 1950 in Taylorville the daughter of Chester C. and Doris L. Griffin Johnson. Mrs. Henderson graduated from Eastern Illinois University and had been an English teacher, taught creative writing and was the coach of the scholastic bowl team and was cheerleading coach at Morrisonville Community High School from 1972 until June 2008. She was a member of the National Education Association, Retired Teachers Association and Lincolnland Community College Advisory Board. She received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Monmouth College. She is survived by her son, Ryan Henderson of Peoria, IL, Daughter, Kesha Henderson of Villa Park, IL; companion, Gerald Hornbuckle of Morrisonville, Brothers: Galen Johnson of Pawnee, IL and Allen Johnson of Branson, MO. Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Morrisonville Community High School Gymnasium. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery, Palmer, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday at the gym at Morrisonville Community High School. Memorials may be made to: Morrisonville Community High School, P.O.
