Della Jo Podeschi, 81, of Taylorville, IL died at 11:20 am Monday, October 25, 2010 at Meadow Manor Nursing Home, Taylorville. She was born August 14, 1929 in Taylorville the daughter of James and Arminta Matthews Check. On September 5, 1948 she married Mario E. Podeschi at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville. Mrs. Podeschi was an avid Bingo player and lived to cook for her family and friends. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville. Surviving are her husband, Mario Podeschi of Taylorville; Son, Mark Podeschi and wife Marianne of Taylorville, Daughters: Sue Kelley and husband Cliff of Carbondale, and Donna Kovack-Emmerling and husband Carl of Taylorville. 7 Grandchildren: Jennifer Tuton and husband James of Canton, MI, Laura Podeschi of Champaign, Jessica Podeschi of Canton, MI, Sheri Stinnett of Carterville, Terri Stinnett of Herrin, Jeff Kovack and Brad Kovack both of Taylorville. There are 6 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Ray Podeschi, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 28 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday at McClure Funeral Home with a prayer service held at 4:45 pm. Memorials may be made to Meadow Manor Nursing Home Activity Fund or Taylorville Memorial Hospital.
