Dave E. Montgomery Obituary (1952 - 2005)

Dave E. Montgomery, 52, of Edinburg, IL died at 11:35 pm Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at his residence. He was born April 16, 1952 in Taylorville, IL the son of Floyd and Frances Dunn Montgomery. He married Charlotte Vancil on April 30, 1971 in Taylorville. He attended the University of Illinois and Sangamon State University. He had been employed as an engineering tech for the Illinois Department of Transportation, Christian County Sheriff's Deputy, Taylorville Police officer, owner of Dave's Homestead Restaurant in Mt. Auburn and Sangamon County Adult probation officer. He ran an investigation service for many years and was currently an investigator with the Sangamon County Public Defender's Office. Surviving are his parents of Mt. Auburn, wife of Edinburg, IL, sons Jason Montgomery and wife Becky of Buffalo, IL and Ben Montgomery and wife Jill of Belleville, IL, Daughter: Daphne Hurley and husband Harold of Edinburg, IL, Grandchildren: Jessica Montgomery, Katelyn Montgomery, Diana Montgomery, Natalie Hurley, Jacob Hurley, Emily Montgomery and Nicholas Montgomery. Brothers: Charles Montgomery and wife JoAnn of Cary, NC and Mark Montgomery and wife Rochelle of Mt. Auburn, IL. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, April 4, 2005 in McClure Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday April 3, 2005 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL.
