Claude H. Harrold Obituary (1915 - 2003)

Claude H. "Junie" Harrold, 87, of Taylorville, IL died at 5:30 pm Friday, January 10, 2003 at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville, IL. He was born March 1, 1915 in Taylorville, IL the son of Claude E. and Anna M. Duncan Harrold. On March 19, 1938 he married Mary Elizabeth Purkes in St. Charles, MO and she preceded in death on April 12, 1991. Mr. Harrold was a retired farmer, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Christian County Amateur Radio Club. He is survived by 2 sons: Jack Harrold and wife Lois of Taylorville and Bruce Harrold of Taylorville. A daughter, Dana Garner and husband Glenn of Vandenburg, AR; 7 Grandchildren: Bonnie Hall, Brendan Harrold, Andrea Richardson, Desi Monts, Bryantt Harrold, Derek Monts and Diedre Monts. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, James Harrold, 1 grandson Drew Monts, 5 Brothers and 2 Sisters. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 15, 2003 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL with Rev. Richard Wamsley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
