Christopher Patrick Venters Obituary (1979 - 2010)

Christopher Patrick Venters, 31, of Springfield, IL formerly of Taylorville died at 12:26 pm Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born August 30, 1979 in Springfield, IL the son of Kathleen Moran Venters and David Coplea and father Gerry Venters. He was a dental technician in Decatur, IL. Christopher played guitar in the "Lighter Thieves" band. He loved Kayaking, electrical work, and was a very loving and caring person to other people and children. He was a member of the Taylorville High School Class of 1997. He gave the gift of life to numerous people by being an organ donor. Surviving and his mother: Kathy Moran Venters and Step-Dad David Coplea of Springfield; Father, Gerry Venters of Taylorville. Grandparents: Richard P. and Dina Moran and Edna Venters Shewmaker all of Taylorville. Sisters: Brooke Venters Siders and husband Bill of Edinburg, McKenzie Venters, Whitney Venters, and Taylor Venters all of Taylorville. Aunts: Janine Moran Fabian and Kathie Venters Cravens both of Taylorville; Uncles: Steve Moran and wife Renee of Taylorville, Bill Moran and Companion Michelle Bandy-Ward of Taylorville, Mark Moran and wife Lisa of Bloomington, David Moran and wife Marcie of Cumming, GA, Stephen Venters and companion Minerva of Chicago, and Kent Venters of Hartsville, TN. There are several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and numerous friends. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, October 21, 2010 at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL with Deacon Ray Roth officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
