August Pigati, Jr. Obituary (1924 - 2007)

August "Gus" Pigati, Jr., 82, of Taylorville, IL died at 10:41 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at his residence. He was born August 24, 1924 in Highwood, IL the son of August and Elsie Angeline Vidmar Pigati, Sr. On June 22, 1946 he married Betty R. Bonacorsi in Taylorville, IL and she preceded in death on May 21, 2000. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville, a veteran of the 8th Army Air Corps in World War II, a member of V.F.W. Post #4495 and retired as a carpenter for Gene Kennedy Construction after 40 years of service. Mr. Pigati was the Taylorville City Men's Golf Champion in 1976. He is survived by 2 Sons: Thomas Pigati and wife Carol of Springfield, IL and James Pigati of Greeley, CO. 2 Brothers: Robert Pigati of Taylorville and Richard Pigati and wife Barb of Spencer, IN. 5 Grandchildren: Jeff Pigati and wife Kristi of Tucson, AZ, Eric Pigati of Tucson, AZ, Melinda Stemmler and husband Wayne of Burbank, CA, Zachary Pigati of Greeley, CO and Jason Pigati and wife Jamie of Greeley, CO. 8 Great Grandchildren: Owen Pigati, Jakob Pigati, Elliot Pigati, Joseph Pigati, Caroline Pigati, Olivia Stemmler, Konnor Pigati and Kyia Pigati. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Son Danny Pigati and Brother Jack Pigati. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Monday, March 5, 2007 at McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL with Rev. Bill Frazier officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home on Monday.
