Alberta Kerwin Scammahorn Obituary (1914 - 2007)

Alberta Catherine (Kerwin) Scammahorn, 93, of Stonington, IL, died at 3:40 pm Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. She was born February 18, 1914 in Blue Mound, IL the daughter of Henry and Minnie J. Hall Harbarger. Mrs. Scammahorn had owned a beauty shop, worked as a Cardiac Lab technician at Decatur Memorial Hospital and St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, was a companion to Floy Richmond for 10 years, and she and Marge Buis were the first cooks in the Stonington School's lunch program. Surviving is her son Jack Kerwin of Taylorville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, and 7 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in McClure Funeral Home with Father Dan Willenborg officiating. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 am Tuesday until time of service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Taylorville Memorial Hospital Hospice Program, 100 W. Franklin, Taylorville, IL 62568.
